The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is Australia’s national statistical agency.
What We Do
The ABS collects and analyses a broad range of social,economic, business, population and environmental data and produces valuablestatistics and insights to inform Australia’s important decisions.
The Census
Every five years, the ABS counts every person and householdin Australia. This called the Census of Population and Housing (Census). Thenext Census is on Tuesday 11 August 2026.
