A 22 bed private inpatient mental health unit opened on 18 November 2013, offering a range of inpatient mental health programs including anxiety and depression, mood disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care, Australia's largest provider of private mental health services, Caloundra Private Clinic is located at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast in peaceful surroundings only minutes from the beach.

A 22 bed private inpatient mental health unit opened on 18 November 2013, offering a range of inpatient mental health programs including:
- Anxiety and depression
- Mood disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder.
The service will expand in 2014, adding comprehensive day programs and additional inpatient beds.
Patients can be referred to the Clinic following assessment by their general practitioner and will be admitted to the Clinic under the care of a consultant psychiatrist. Care will also be provided by a multidisciplinary team of specialist nursing staff, psychologists & other allied health professionals.

Patients
It is very important that you approach your admission to hospital well informed of the financial consequences. Please read the following information and contact your hospital if you have any concerns or queries.
Privately Insured Patients - should confirm with your health fund prior to admission the following:
- Does my policy cover me for this procedure?
- Do I have an “excess” payment on my insurance policy?
- Are there any co-payments required for each night I will be in hospital?
- Does my policy exclude some treatments, for example cardiac, orthopaedic or rehabilitation?
- Are any prosthetic or disposable items used in the surgery not covered by my insurance?
Visitors
We understand that visiting your loved one is important to you. Visitors are most welcome and encouraged. However, please ensure that you do not visit during program session times. Children must be directly supervised by visitors at all time.
Visiting Hours are as follows:
- Weekdays 4pm to 8pm
- Weekends 10am to 8pm
- Public Holidays 10am to 8pm
It is important for visitors to be mindful that they may bring an infection into the Clinic when visiting. It is therefore advised that all visitors with symptoms of illness such as influenza, gastroenteritis or of a transmissible illness (such as Measles, Whooping Cough, Rubella etc.) refrain from visiting until they are symptom free for 48 hours. More information on specific illnesses can be obtained from the Nurse Unit Manager.
