With 500+ registered beds, more than 53,000 admissions per year and more than 1,800 staff across three hospitals, we are one of Melbourne’s busiest and biggest acute care hospitals.
Our major specialities include orthopaedics, cardiac services, maternity, neurosciences and reconstructive plastic surgery. We also specialise in ear, nose and throat, oncology and haematology, brain and spinal, gynaecology, oral and maxillofacial and gastrointestinal.

Our hospitals
Our group includes 3 city hospitals (Fitzroy, East Melbourne and Kew), and a new hospital and aged care facility in Werribee that opened in January 2018.

No Hospital Visitors permitted
Exceptions Apply (Case by case approval required):
One nominated support person for Maternity (allowed at all times, person not interchangeable)
One nominated carer/parent/guardian for patient under 18 yrs of age
For patients receiving end of Life care or life threatening conditions
For patients who require assistance with communication, behaviour management or emotional support
Patients with complex disability or mental illness- One carer for support on discharge
What are visiting hours in the Maternity Ward?
