Stuart Hwy Tyres is a local family owned and operated tyre sales and repair business in Katherine. It has been operating under the present owner since April 2008. Owner Paul Maynard who was born in Darwin moved to Katherine with his parents in 1982.

As a family Independent tyre business Stuart Hwy Tyres stock a large range of quality and affordable tyre brands for cars, 4WD's trucks and earthmoving machines. Brands include GT Radial, Maxxis, Yokahama, Toyo, Kumho, Hercules and budget brands Sunfull and HiFly. They are also agents for Mickey Thompson 4WD tyres which can be sourced from the wholesaler overnight from Darwin.

If customers wish to wait they offer a large air-conditioned waiting room with Foxtel to keep you entertained.

Owner Paul Maynard has worked in the tyre industry in Katherine for the last 25 years. Pauls father Phil who has lived in Darwin and Katherine for over 60 years 'retired' to assist Paul in running the business. They pride themselves in giving good old fashioned friendly service.

While the business services a number of large contractors and service providers in the Katherine region Paul also saw the need to provide a quality service to local residents and visitors to the town. In 2014 Paul took the opportunity to relocate the service into town at 23 First St.

This has been more convenient for customers who can leave their car and do their shopping or frequent the coffee shops and takeaway food shops all located within 200 metres. They include Maccas, Red Rooster, Subway and Coffee Club.
